Meet Dr. Jonathan Dehors, DC

I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. After completing high school I felt a call of duty to serve my country. Following in the footsteps of my father and my grandfather, at the age of seventeen, I joined the United States Marine Corps. I was ultimately stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

While serving my country, I suffered an injury to my lower back. I tried physical therapy with no relief. The only other option available through the Veterans system was pain medication and back surgery. Neither of the options were acceptable to me. I wanted a solution for my problem. Therefore, after my honorable discharge, I sought out chiropractic care to investigate what they could do for me.

I spent several weeks in treatment from a local chiropractor. At the conclusion of care, I became practically pain free.  My doctor involved me in my treatment and overall care answering all my questions and explaining the ultimate goal. He advised me on nutrition and rehabilitation exercises in order for me to progress more efficiently and effectively.

This new found relief aided in my decision to become a chiropractor and help others the same way I was helped. I went back to school and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Syracuse University. I then continued on to New York Chiropractic College and received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

While enrolled at NYCC, I invented and patented an instrument named ConnecTX. This tool is used to treat soft tissue dysfunction, such as fibrous adhesions or scar tissue and trigger points.  This tool is of great interest to other professionals in my field and after working closely with NYCC in order to develop specific protocols for its use on patients, I am proud to announce the technique began being taught in 2012 at New York Chiropractic College. The goal of this tool will be of great therapy to chiropractic patients and hopefully doctors will experience less wear and tear on their own joints prolonging their ability to treat patients. This is an exciting collaboration for me and gives me a great satisfaction to be a contributor to the chiropractic profession.

After spending eight years in school in upstate New York, I felt it was time for a change of scenery to a warmer climate.  Upon graduation, I moved to Apex, North Carolina.  I worked with a local chiropractor for 4 months, at which time I realized I wanted to practice on my own and treat patients with the most up to date, evidence based practices that chiropractic has to offer.

After 1 year in NC, I realized there really isn’t anything like being home with family and friends, so I decided to return to Syracuse, NY…not to mention over 100 degrees is a little much.

I am excited to be home and look forward to being an asset to the people of Syracuse.
